Reminders for the Upcoming Hurricane Region Drivers Ed at CMP:
1. Reserve your room at Colony Inn in Camden 800.356.9801 or 803.432.5508. Ask for the Porsche Club group rate of $62 + tax.
2. If you are interested in renting a garage space or a helmet, contact the track directly. Main number for CMP is 803.475.2448.
3. If you have not already completed your Pre-event Technical Inspection, please schedule your inspection soon to allow sufficient time to correct any deficiencies. For those in The Triangle, Leith Porsche at Cary Auto Park is offering $50 Tech Inspections; they are donating 100% of the collected inspection fees to Hurricane Region in support of the Heroes On Track project.
4. Registration and Grid Tech will be open from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday August 13. Registration will be located in the Track Administration building to the right before entering the gate. Please do not block the driveway when you stop to register. Bring your Tech Form and drivers license to Registration. From Registration, you will proceed to your favorite parking spot in the paddock and then to Grid Tech with your Tech Form, helmet, and car.

Other Stuff:
" If you would like to help at Grid Tech, please contact Dale Keller at *******. The more Grid Tech assistants we have, the faster everyone will be able to cruise through Grid Tech.
" Want to save shipping fees and delays for your Car Numbers? Extreme-Vinyl is taking orders through Wednesday evening for CAR NUMBERS that will be delivered to the track for this event! Cool deal, so check out their Web site at http://extreme-vinyl.com/
" Joining us this coming weekend is Ron Zitza, Director of Instructor Training with FL Citrus PCA. Ron has an extensive driving history in Porsches ranging from Speedsters to GT-3 Supercups. He has competed in the Daytona 24-Hour race 14 times with a class win in 2000. Ron's business Zotz Racing provides trackside service, Porsche preparation, and private coaching. He will be helping us with check rides and the Heroes On Track project. Stop by the #12 car and introduce yourself if you have questions about becoming an instructor, moving into racing, or just curious about how a driving coach can help you advance to that next level of driving.
" Apex Performance (http://www.apexperformance.net/), a full line auto racing safety supplier, will be at our event if you want to pre-order any in-stock items for track pick up. Clark and Linda will have a selection of products on hand for you Hard Core Shoppers, too.

" Registration is officially closed for instructed students. If you know of any procrastinating instructors or solo drivers who really want to join us, they can request an application and accompanying tsk tsk tsk from me.
" One last thing…. Through the generosity of Tarheel Sports Car Club and Coastal Empire PCA, we have a large selection of helmets to fit our Heroes On Track folks for their Taste of The Track rides on Saturday. If you have an extra SA 2000/2005 helmet, let me know in case we need additional helmet to accommodate various sizes. Our Heroes will be wearing helmet sox.
