Caption, Please!?! We need a new photo!!! Our esteemed Humor Judge, Captain Tony selected a winner for the last photo (the Porsche-pedic trackcar) and is eager to begin the next contest. Visit the photo caption page for previous photos and winners. Send me a bizarre photo that begs for a twisted & perverse caption! Come on, with this darn Internet supplying a constant stream of entertainment, you should come up with something suitable. (No wrecked cars or roadkill please.)

Fascar Productions All winners are displayed for eternity and forever bragging rights.

     Updates on Existing/New/Future Tracks:

Anyone have news about existing or proposed tracks?

Road Atlanta
, near Braselton GA was repaved in early 2007; last repaving was 1992. The track was built in 1970 - great trivia to sprinkle into your paddock conversations. :-)

Legends Motorsports Club is a proposed track one hour from Atlanta. Located on a 600 acre pacel, the plans include two 2.5 mile tracks, clubhouse, vehicle storage, and covered garages. You can read about their extensive project and memberships.

Roebling Road, near Savannah GA has been repaved and re-opened September 2006. The new surface is lovely and very gentle to tires.

North Carolina Speedway (Rockingham) has new curbing in the infield road course! (See photos.) The new curbing was a joint service project of Tarheel Sports Car Club, Triangle Z Club, North Carolina Region SCCA, and Hurricane Region PCA. Not only does the new curbing/kerbing look spiffy, the track stays cleaner. SPECIAL REPORT: Andy Hillenburg was the successful bidder at the October 2 auction of Rockingham. He plans to host professional races and schools. Andy is a racer (not a bean-counter, thank goodness) and has Fast Track Racing school in Charlotte, but probably moving its homebase to Rockingham.

High Rock International Raceway, near Salisbury NC.
A conditional use permit was approved 9 August by the Town of Spencer Zoning Board Authority. This allows facility construction to begin. Projected opening is Feb 2008.

New Jersey Motorsports Park, near Millville NJ with main road course is called Thunderbolt Raceway. NJMP announced the hiring of James Redman as Director of Motorsports activities. Contact James at (772) 713-7322 or jamesnjmp@gmail.com. Applications to join the Driver’s Club @ New Jersey Motorsports Park are available. Track Web site: www.njmotorsportspark.com
more NJMP news:
The City of Millville has cleared the site of all hazardous concerns and have been issued a permit to extend a water and sewer connection for the development project. The construction of that extension is scheduled to begin in 2007 and will be completed by the 2008 opening of the Thunderbolt Raceway.

The Millville Army Air Field has entered into an agreement with NJMP, LLC to be a curator of any significant historical artifacts found at the site. The two entities will be working together on promoting and preserving the history of the Millville Municipal Airport.

NJMP has all entered into an agreement with Bertino & Associates, Inc. of West Atlantic City to be General Contractors for Phase I of the development project. Bid packages are now being prepared for issuance to subcontractors for the construction of the buildings in Phase I and it is estimated that site work should commence in the Spring of 2007.

Calabogie Motorsport Park, near Ottawa and unfortunately designed by Alan Wilson, opened with a Media Day on 27 September 2006.

Valley Motorsports Park, near Tamworth, NH. They are still working on the necessary permits and other permissions.

proposed road course, near Louisville KY. no name, no URL, no news

Dragon's Ridge, near Williamsburg VA. Another unfortunate design by Alan Wilson. Can't someone stop him? What a terrible waste of perfectly good paving material! No updates on this proposed facility in several months. Anyone have confirmed information on the current status or expectations?
